Ryan has a funny phrase that he says everytime someone needs to buck up and get something done. He says, "Well, it's time for him/her to put their big boy/girl underpants on." Today was that day for me.
Ryan started work here today, signaling the entrance into my new world of figuring out Brussels by myself with 3 kids in tow. I wish I had lots of fun horror stories for you, but we actually had a really mellow day. We spent a whopping 4 hours at the park with some new friends, so that took a mighty chunk out of our day. I also tried cooking something other than pasta tonight in my wholly un-equipped kitchen which took another chunk of time (and just in case you're ever wondering like I was today, chicken breasts DO cook in a toaster oven - quite quickly in fact!) Throw in a couple of random French cartoons and a little cleaning up and you've got yourself a full day.
(note: I tried uploading more pictures but my computer was having issues, so if it corrects itself I will upload the rest of my pics from today!)

Wow, what a beautiful park! The parks in New Mexico are lanscaped with rocks. I haven't seen that much grass in a long time. I am glad you survived your first day alone with the kids.
I love hearing about your new adventures. Please keep the posts coming. And by the way, my mom uses that same phrase. Love it.
That park is very pretty! It's scary moving to a new place but I know that you will do well and make lots of new friends. I wish you guys the very best!
Wish I could put on my big girl pants and do what you guys are doing. I think Jesse is so bummed with me right now. Glad you guys made it ok. We look forward to seeing more photos and hearing more great stories!
I'm so impressed by your adventure! Good luck over there!
I am with you on the joy of 4 hours at a beautiful green park. I just love being outside. Sounds like you live in a wonderful area.

Thanks for all your encouragement for me. Wow! You are so awesome! I am not at all surprised that you already have some new friends. You are such a great friend! I hope things calm down enough to feel like home soon and I am proud of you for wearing your big girl underpants. I hope Ryan appreciates you! You inspire me to think anything is possible!
Now you just need to learn the phrase that your big girl underpants are NOT in a twist! :)
