Last week I was minding my own business, checking my email, when all of the sudden my computer shut down on me. I didn't think too much about it until I tried to restart it and got "The Blue Screen of Death." Most (if not all) of you have probably encountered this screen at one time or another in your computer-using life, and it's never fun. Things have been so busy around my house that Mr. Fix Anything (aka Ryan) hasn't really had time to look at it until today. Well, the prognosis isn't looking good and it seems as though we have lost everything since the last time we backed up (which was 6 months ago!) So, I will send out a thank you to my blog, for the pictures on my blog are the only pictures I have now from the last 6 months...sniff, sniff.
However, in other news - other GOOD news - we sold our house again. Yes that's right, 1 week and many many prayers later and our house is officially off the market again. This whole experience has just been one big Faith 101 class. I swear I have taken the class before, but for whatever reason I can never remember the curriculum I so diligently studied. I guess that's why I have to keep taking it.....
In even more good news, my parents are taking Brayden and Landon for the rest of the week. Ryan's parents have been visiting this past weekend and they are dropping the boys off in Boise on their way back to Salt Lake. I think it will be so fun for the boys to party and will definitely be amazing for me and Ryan to have this last week before we go to get things done. The thought of starting a "project" and being able to finish without child interruptions is almost more than my brain can process. I'll let you know if I survive.
For you Google Reader users, I have created an "update" blog to let you know when I have updated this, my private blog. So don't forget to replace my existing blog address with lafamillewhite.blogspot.com in google reader!

ooh sorry about your computer! i'm going to go back up my pictures right now! i do love that the blog is one source of backup though and you can download them high resolution. i'm so glad you were able to sell your house, that is awesome. good luck with packing!
I'm backing up my computer too!! That is just soooo sad! I was whooting over here when I read that you sold your house! Was it the people who were looking at it when I saw you at Costco?? I can't believe this is your last week on Oregon soil...it is just sad! Thanks for being such a great friend...and for teaching me so much!
I'm so sorry you've lost some of your pics! At least it wasn't all of them. Our computer seemed to crash last year but it was saved. We bought an external hard drive ASAP and I back up my pics nearly everytime I load them now. I have a great program that makes it easy to do back up on another drive called "Comparator Pro" if you're interested.
I'm SOOO happy your house sold. That's awesome!! The Lord truly does watch over us. =)
holy cow, not fun news at all with the computer-so sorry. although i am happy that you have sold your home and that you will be able to get some much needed packing done-i can't believe you are so close to moving-what a fun adventure!!
I just had the same problem on my computer. UG it's so sad and frustrating. Glad everything is going well, and positively. Hope the rest is smooth sailing.
Hey, just FYI, I recently had the unescapable BSOD and had a lot on the hard drive I COULDN"T lose (i.e. important documents for application for graduate school etc.) Anyway, I wanted to say that if you really don't want to lose stuff on your hard drive you can recover it. Just get a second harddrive, install windows on THAT hard drive and then you can access your "old" hard drive as a second drive and get whatever you want off it. (that's what I did anyway). Then you have 2 harddrives anyway for future backups. BTW, Bri hasn't called because we're in SLC for the next week. When are you guys heading out? Wow this is a long comment/essay.
I am glad your house sold before you moved! How nice that you won't have to worry about that when you are in Belgium. Your computer woes have inspired me to back up my pictures! Casey is usually in charge of that, and I have no idea when the last time was that he did it. :) Good luck with packing and the move!
Hooray! I finally found your site and linked you on ours so that we can stay up on your adventures in Europe! Congrats on selling your house again. Such a stressful thing, huh! Best of luck packing.
Ouch! Sorry about you computer. Mine did that last year and I had ALL my pictures on it. I took the hard drive out and bought an external hard drive enclosure for about $25 and was able to access my drive by plugging it into another computer. I hope you find a way to get your pictures back. And congrats on selling the house again!
Hey you guys rock!!! good luck with the big move. we hung out with rich, katherine, andrea, dustin, tricia, matt, natalie, and tyler this weekend and totally missed you guys...but know that you are doing things WAY cooler then us.
sorry about the BSOD...my computer just did that...but i took it in and they were able to recover it.
congrats on selling the house again.
you'll be in my prayers. i'm so pumped for your adventure.
