After two trans-atlantic flights, quite a few sleepless nights, many tears (the good kind (adults) and the bad kind (the children!)) and lots of laughing, presenting opening, and candy-eating, we have made it back home to Brussels, mostly intact (sanity is to be questioned at this point...).
I wasn't sure how I was going to feel going back to the States for the first time and I'm happy to report that it felt great, and it felt equally as good coming back to Belgium. For whatever reason I have struggled a bit to feel settled here, but when we got off the plane in Brussels and started driving home, I felt like I was going HOME, and that felt wonderful.
Having been away from the computer for about 3 weeks now, I'm having a hard time getting back into it. So, that being said, and it being a new year and all, I have decided that I am going to try and keep a little distance between myself and my friend/nemesis The Computer. After all, with 3 grocery-consuming-clothes-dirtying children, a house that does not self-clean, a new language to learn (yup, still working on that one...), and a busy new church calling, it's all I can do to shower in peace. I have also decided - and this time I mean it! - that I am going to take my blog private, once and for all. I have "threatened" to do this twice, and different reasons have caused me not to, but this time it's for real. After all, I originally created this blog to keep in touch with friends and family that lived far away, and that intention will not be disturbed in the least...unless you forget to leave me your email address. :) If you have left it in the past, I believe I still have it. If you have any doubt that I may not already have it, please leave it again.
I haven't really had time to go through my pictures from the trip, so when I get a chance I will share a few, but here is one of my favorites, taken by my sister-in-law on Christmas Eve:

I hear ya about distancing yourself with the computer...mine decided to die on me about a month ago...and it is still getting fixed...so I haven't had a chance to be on as much...but, it actually has been kinda nice! My kids actually get to have lunch every once in a while now!! Haha! :) Enjoy your time...and all your adventures!!

And then, I'm glad you're back and all is well. No sign yet of a Europe trip since Intel has shut down all travel... :-(. I'll let you know if that changes. I'm currently recovering from a reduction... its not too bad. I miss you! My kids are on a swap- gone at a friend's house for 24 hours! Yipee! Left at 5pm, and won't return until 5pm tomorrow night.

Well, I didn't leave my email, but it's passed the cut-off, and since I can still see your blog, you're either a liar or I'm still on the list :) Haha. Either way, you know I couldn't live without reading your blog. It was SOOOO nice to see you, even briefly. I'm starting to sell my life away on eBay so I can earn enough money to fly to Europe. I may not have anything left in my house to come home to, but it will be worth it!
