Summer wrap-up

Wednesday nights are basketball for Ryan, so I have the house and a box of chocolates all nice and quiet to myself. I thought this would be the perfect time to catch-up on my obvious lack of blogging. The days are passing by in the form of weeks around here and I can't believe we have already been here 2 months! We only have 22 months left and it just doesn't seem like enough time to do everything I want to do while we are here... I am feeling compelled to dedicate this post to any stay-at-home mom with kids in school who I may have previously judged as having "an easy life." Since my kids started school, I think my days have only gotten busier. I still haven't figured out how to get up early enough to get ready for the day, make breakfast, make beds, dress children, throw a load of laundry in, and do breakfast dishes before we head out the door in the morning. If I don't do the morning chores before school, I find myself wasting my morning after dropping them at school getting the house in order, which just doesn't sit very well with me. Who wants to be cleaning up when there is so much fun to be had?! So, if any of you wise and experienced moms have any advice for me, please share!! We are settling in more and more everyday and we have finally set up our home computer which is soooo great. Not only do I have my nice, big screen back, but I can finally import all of my pictures from the summer (316 on my camera, 765 on Ryans). When I imported the pictures from my camera I realized that I never posted about our trip to Ghent a couple of weeks ago. We went with our friends The Millers and had a fabulous time as always. Ghent was another really cute, Belgian town with tons of charm. When you (meaning you and you and you...) come visit me, I will make sure to include it on our Belgian tour. Most of the best pictures from Ghent are on Ryan's camera (which I have yet to import and sort through) but here are a couple from my camera and also some other pictures from the summer that I discovered on my camera. Consider this my (sniff, sniff) summer wrap-up.......HELLO FALL!

Woo Hoo! I get to be the first to comment... lucky me! Okay, I LOVE the snuggle pics. The boys on the Metro is priceless! The summertime farmers market looks so fresh and yummy. I'm so glad to hear you're getting settled into your home. Any adice for you? Nothing good... I would probably ingnore the chores altogether and just goof off!! (But that's because I'm immature, ya see!) You are much more responsible than than, I'm sure!

This will sound crazy, but when I saw that last picture of Brayden and Landon sitting together, for a second I thought Brayden was Ryan. His profile is exactly the same as Ryan's. Wierd! In that picture, Brayden looks exactly like the Ryan that I remember growing up with, and being buddies with. Anyway, I love all the pictures! Hailey is in bed, otherwise I would have her come and look at them and she would be going crazy. She really wants to talk to Brayden on the phone. I think we figured out that while she is in school, Brayden is at home, and while Brayden is sleeping, Hailey is just getting home from school... Maybe we'll have to call you on a Saturday. :)

Oh, and by-the-way, I hardly ever have time to get beds made, clean up breakfast dishes, and throw a load of laundry in before I get the kids off to school, but I don't let that ruin my fun. Sometimes I end up dong a quick clean-up of the house right before I pick up the kids from school. I have gotten really good at cleaning at lightening speed. Who wants to spend all their time cleaning, anyway?

Sorry my comment is completly unrelated, but here's the link of the public transportation website http://www.stib.be/appl/TimeTables/Site/080901/Fr/M/001/0012/H0012F.htm
You can catch the metro at 9h31am at Stockel and I will get it at 9h32am in Kraainem, in the first wagon.

that's so cool. All these adventures you guys are having, and all the memories. Your kids are so dang cute, and I agree with Elizabeth, they look so much like Ryan. I'm sure they look a lot like you to, but I'll have to meet you for the comparison.

Days are only busier for me, but there is a little better ratio for part of the day of kids:mom. Too much math on the brain, sorry;)
I am glad you are having a fun time and you are because you are counting down the time you have left in a nice, positive way.
I made you some cookies for Andy to take you, but you were gone....also some homemade bread, twice.
Keep up the good work.

I could of wrote your post Lisa. I have decided I am not in the season for a perfect house. I try to keep the main floor clean and everything else is on the bottom of the list. One thing nice is my oldest is old enough to be a good helper. I say go for the fun and have a whole family clean up after school or before bed. My main goal is to have my garbage can full each week on the curb and then I feel good.

Great pictures, Lisa. I forgot how beautifully they lay out the fruits and vegetables in those outdoor stands in Europe. Also, loving the brotherly love pic!
