Never a dull moment...

It's been another wildly exciting day at my house.

This morning I had a couple of meetings at the church and when I got home the house was silent. Completely silent. You may think that is a good thing, but when there is silence at my house there is always trouble and it's usually big. I came into the kitchen and Ryan was sitting at the table working on his lesson for his primary class and he told me that Charlotte was napping and the boys were playing in the playroom. So nicely in fact, that they were totally quiet. Our home teachers showed up a couple of minutes later and when we called for the boys they didn't come. I immediately knew that they were not playing nicely, but were probably making trouble...and I was right. Somehow the boys had gotten their Costco-sized bottle of vitamins out of the medicine cabinet (NO IDEA how this happened) and were eating them in the playroom. We figured by what was left in the bottle that they ate anywhere from 15-20 each (keep in mind we give them half a vitamin each night). Brayden said he had eaten "About ten," but I'm sure he was underestimating because he didn't want to get in trouble. Ryan immediately called poison control and they told us to make sure the boys drank lots and lots of water to try and flush out their systems. What they didn't mention was HOW the vitamins would flush out of their systems, and I'll tell you the answer is not urine. It's something else, and it's explosive.

After having stomach pains all afternoon both boys seem to be doing better tonight. We officially threw away the rest of the vitamins and don't plan on buying any more. My feelings on the day basically come down to this: when the 7th day was set aside as a "day of rest" I'm not sure that families with young boys were taken into account.

Oh my! I'm glad everything turned out well even if it was explosive:) Doesn't sound restful at all!

Wow. That is pretty crazy. I know exactly what you mean by the sound of that "complete silence"...it is scary, not peaceful!

what is it with your kids eating things they shouldn't?? Not as funny as the lady bug, at least your girl didn't have bowel problems after.

HA HA HA - I don't know which is better...reading the story, or imagining you telling it...either way, that is dang funny! :)

Oh my goodness!! I'm so sorry... but I am cracking up right now. Your boys are the funniest! I can just picture those two munching away on their "candy" and feeling pretty dang proud....and then oh the consequence Ha! You are the best mom for them :) I am so glad they are OK. Can't wait for the next adventure :)

HA! that is funny, although I am beginning to be grateful that I don't have two boys-I don't think I could handle some of the adventure they can muster. It is fun to read about though :) I wonder what two little girls that age can/will do, we'll see, my girls aren't too far off...:)
