Portugal

As it is with most of the "big" trips we take, I can't possibly explain all of the details in a concise post that is actually interesting to read. Overall, the trip was awesome. There were things we would do again (Sintra, beaches...) and things we will suggest our friends never do (Lisbon public transportation, Best Western in Faro, Mercado da Ribera…). We spent most of our nights in Lisbon in a great apartment that was well worth it's cheap price tag, but took the opportunity to day-trip out to the other areas around Lisbon. Here’s the run-down:

We waited for our plane...

Picked up our luggage...

Attended church....

Danced...

Played in the middle of the city...

Went to the bathroom appropriately...

Found treasure....

Saw new places...

Soaked in the sun....

Climbed castles...

Visited a palace...

and most of all, we enjoyed each other....

Lastly, if he hasn't already heard it enough, a huge thank you to the man who made our trip possible, the trip coordinator and translator...

I loved all the photos, but particulary enjoyed the fact that Brayed is sporting a Euro style suit .. . he'll definitely be laughing at that one someday. Loooks like a blast.

WOW! I was talking about you guys with my husband showing him these pictures.. he's been all over
Europe, and I have never been out of the US, but you guys have some of the most awesome memories you are making there. I'm glad you get out and visit these awesome places... I have a friend who's husband is in the reserves, so they move every 2 years. They left the first of this week for alaska after being in Germany for 2 years... she said her biggest regret was how little they got out and explored the things around them while they were there. I mean she did visit some awesome looking places, but you guys are taking it all in. I'm so glad you guys have that ability and can make such awesome memories with your whole family..And it will make for a great journal/book if/when you print it out!!

Thanks for the update. Your travels are so exciting! I'm also very impressed that you've found babysitters there for overnight trips and more!
Don't know anything more about Germany in September yet for the DOD.
