Into the Wild

Not only is that the title of a book by Jon Krakauer that I started reading, it is also what we ventured to do yesterday! It was a gorgeous fall day yesterday so we decided to go hiking. We chose Hagg Lake as our location, packed a picnic lunch, loaded the kids up, and off we went. We were all so excited to get there and then we pulled up to the ranger station and realized that we didn't have cash (and they don't accept anything plastic) to pay for the park entrance fee! So, much to the boys' dismay we turned around to find the nearest ATM...which wasn't that near. :) However, we finally made it to the trails and had a wonderful time hiking through the trees and sitting on the edge of the lake skipping and throwing rocks.

There is just something magical about being out in nature and I know my kids feel the same way. Even Charlotte was wide-eyed at the scenery. It was a wonderful family outing and makes me sad that the rains will begin to descend upon the Northwest soon!

So cute and so fun! We really should do more of that kind of stuff since we are surrounded by the mountains! It looks so beautiful!

How fun! It looks beautiful there. I think I should take my family to do that sort of thing more often :)

I know I already made a post, but Sarah (my youngest) doesn't want to sleep tonight and while I was doing my traditional "web surfing" we opened your blog and heard the music, she has not wanted to leave the room, the music is her friend tonight - so I ask, how do you put music to your blog?

Lisa-

Looks like we had similar days on Saturday, but you must have taken your good camera cause those are some beautiful shots. So, Trenton brought home this little heart from primary on Sunday with "Love one another at the top and Brayden written on the middle of it. I asked him why it said Brayden and he said, "because I love Brayden". Kind of random, but very cute nonetheless. guess he still hasn't forgotten about you guys!
