You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours

Not only has Ryan been gone the last 3 days, but it has also been POURING rain. So, my "outdoor" boys have been forced into the confines of the house and the results haven't been pretty. In order to avoid a total meltdown (from me of course) we went for a little outing after naptime today to Safari Sams. We met my friend Nicole and her 2 kids there and after 90 minutes of running, climbing, and jumping, everyone (especially me) was starving. Nicole and I debated if we should attempt a restaurant and decided to make a go of it. All went well and the whole outing turned out to be just what we needed. When we left the restaurant (which was about 30 minutes from my house) it was 7:00 and all 3 kids were pretty tired. By the time we got home Charlotte had fallen asleep and I was eager to rush her to bed, lest she woke up and thought she had just had a little nap. I told the boys to go to the bathroom (which is across the hall from Charlotte's room) and get ready for bed while I fed Charlotte and got her in bed. I sat down in the rocking chair to feed Charlotte and no sooner do I hear the following conversation:

Landon: Move Brayden, I need to go poop!

Brayden: Hold on! I'm going poop!

Landon: Oh, ok.

Brayden: Ok I'm done, but I have to wait for mommy to wipe my bum.

Landon: But I have to go poop!

Brayden: Well Landon, mommy is putting Charlotte to bed and I can't go in there.

Landon: I'll wipe your bum.

Brayden: Um....ok.

toilet paper roll rolling, toilet paper ripped off, SILENCE...

Brayden: Thanks Landon!

Landon: Now move. I need to go poop!

Brayden: Hey Landon - I'm going to go get my pajamas on, but call me when you're done and I'll wipe your bum.

Landon: Oh, ok. Thanks Brayden.

By the time I finished with Charlotte, the boys had in fact "scratched each other's backs." I have been thankful so many times since Charlotte's birth that Brayden and Landon have each other, but none more so than tonight...

Okay so I read this little post while I was sitting in my financial accounting class and I was literally laughing out loud. Uncomfortable to say the least, but that's the funniest thing I've ever heard.
